HELLO, I'M MEREDITH, NICE TO MEET YOU.
I love children - I have two of my own who bring me tons of joy.
I’m passionate about helping children grow into curious, principled, well socialised and resilient individuals - children who are confident when facing challenges and prepared to thrive at school and in life.
I believe children learn best through play, exploring the world, following their interests and interacting with others.
I like being active and outdoors with a splash of storytelling and a proper adventure. Nothing beats going on a bear hunt through the woods, searching for the Gruffalo’s cave, collecting acorns or spotting birds (with the occasional jump in a muddy puddle of course).
I enjoy singing songs, reading stories, making things (especially things we can eat) and learning new things too.
I’m inspired by children. My own children inspired me to find my path as a childminder. In another life, I held senior marketing roles in financial services. I also have a creative background in set and costume design plus experience nannying, babysitting and coaching children in sport.
I believe in the power of community. I love living in Letchworth and have a strong personal connection to this place. I’m originally from the US and my Dad grew up in Garden City, New York - a city inspired by Letchworth. It’s a small world, right?

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND REGISTRATION
I am an approved Ofsted Registered Childminder on the Early Years Register and the Childcare Register (compulsory and voluntary parts).
I am fully qualified with a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Home Based Childcare and a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for Early Years Settings from the Royal Society for Public Health. I am trained in Full Paediatric First Aid and refresh my training every 3 years. I also regularly attend training sessions for continued professional development.
My husband and I have both undergone Enhanced DBS Checks.
I am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) and I am fully insured to operate a childminding setting from my home.
